Western Force prop Marley Pearce has been banned for four weeks after being found guilty of a dangerous tackle on Hurricanes star Jordie Barrett.<\/a><\/p>\n

Pearce suffered a suspected broken nose in a head clash with Barrett and copped a yellow card to add insult to injury.<\/p>\n

Barrett played on with a bandage on his head.\ufeff<\/p>\n

But \ufeffthe SANZAAR foul play review committee decided Pearce's actions in Saturday's 44-14 loss warranted further punishment.<\/p>\n

The committee was chaired by Stephen Hardy and also included former All Blacks halfback Ofisa Tonu'u and ex-Springboks winger Stefan Terblanche.<\/p>\n

Hardy said Pearce made: "direct head contact, at high speed, in dynamic play with the player leading with his head and colliding with a high degree of force, and his body position moving up and forward into the collision. There was no mitigation identified sufficient to downgrade the offence below a red card."<\/p>\n

Pearce's early guilty plea reduced his suspension from six to four weeks.<\/p>\n

The Force will play the Melbourne Rebels on Friday at AAMI Park.<\/p>\n
