Newcastle Knights<\/a> legend Andrew Johns<\/a> believes new English recruit Will Pryce could form a "dangerous" combination with Kalyn Ponga<\/a> in the future as the club looks to build on its fifth placed finish last year.<\/p>\n

Pryce and second-rower Kai Pearce-Paul were both identified by the Knights early into their careers, signing on with the club in December 2022.<\/p>\n

Both players officially joined the Knights this off season \ufeffwith Pryce appearing in both trials, and scoring against the Sharks. Pearce-Paul also made his maiden appearance against the Storm on Saturday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pryce, who can fill a number of roles in the backline, will likely battle with Tyson Gamble for the five-eighth spot at the Knights and Johns believes he could make it his own in the long-term. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"Will Pryce, he's got swagger, confidence, the players absolutely love him," he told Wide World of Sports.<\/p>\n

"He brings a lot, I see him moving forward as a long-term five-eighth.<\/p>\n

"He's got some x-factor, put him together with Kalyn (Ponga) \ufeffand those two playing together, it might take a while but it's dangerous where they can get to."<\/p>\n

Pearce-Paul's appearance in the second trial match was his return from injury after he required surgery on his toe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The injury was one he'd been managing for over 12 months while playing at Wigan. \ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeffPearce-Paul is likely to fill the hole left by Lachlan Fitzgibbon after he headed the other way to the Super League.<\/p>\n
