P\ufeffenrith Panthers<\/a> great Greg Alexander has gone nuclear at the video referee from the World Club Challenge after Wigan<\/a>'s controversial victory.<\/p>\n

The officiating has come under significant criticism from the fixture with former NRL star Jamie Soward labelling it "absolute rubbish"<\/a>. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Jake Wardle's match-winning try was the most controversial, with the video referee ruling there was insufficient evidence to overturn the on field call<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"I can't see a definitive reposition of that ball back to the line," the video referee said.<\/p>\n

"I've got a live call of a try. I have insufficient evidence to overturn the live call. I'm happy with these angles I need. I've made my decision."<\/p>\n

Alexander described the decision and officiating performance as the worst ever.<\/p>\n

"The video referee performance, especially in the second half \ufeffwith the awarding of the Jake Wardle try was the worst I've ever seen, the worst video referee decision I've ever seen," he said on SEN.<\/p>\n

"He had the temerity to say there's insufficient evidence to change the on field decision."<\/p>\n

The Panthers premiership winner, who is now a club director, added he was "in shock" after the incident. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"I can't \ufeffremember what the commentators were saying after that because I was still in shock … he was a foot short of the try line, I don't think you could get a better camera angle to make the decision on that incident," he said.<\/p>\n
