E\ufeffngland<\/a> have been left in disbelief after Yashasvi Jaiswal survived a third umpire's call into a contentious catch in the fourth Test against India<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On 40, the Indian opener nicked behind to keeper Ben Foakes \ufeffwho dived forward and claimed the catch, while bowler Ollie Robinson only appealed once Foakes and first slip Joe Root celebrated.<\/p>\n

Jaiswal stood his ground before \ufeffumpire Kumar Dharmasena sent it upstairs for a review.<\/p>\n

Replays showed the ball appeared to hit the ground just before it went \ufeffinto the gloves, with the third umpire ruling that way.<\/p>\n

However, England were left shocked. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"A huge roar (but) England can't quite believe it \ufeff… moments ago England were celebrating when they were seeing the replay," ex-England player Nick Knight said on Fox Cricket's coverage.<\/p>\n

"And here you're seeing this is a great example of how people see things differently," former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar added.<\/p>\n

"Now it's always dangerous when you rely on only slow motion of the camera for low catches. England, when they saw the last image, they were celebrating almost like it was a no-brainer."<\/p>\n

Footage after the incident showed England clapping and celebrating while the third umpire was showing replays.<\/p>\n

However, the not out decision then brought about a look of surprise with Ben Stokes<\/a> put his hands on his face.<\/p>\n

"For me that was not out, I don't think that carried," Knight added.<\/p>\n

Despite his original disbelief, further footage then showed Stokes telling his players to move on immediately which caught the eye of former Indian keeper Dinesh Karthik.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\ufeff"Exemplary leadership from Stokes considering where this Test match stands, the emotion attached to it, the fact that they celebrated and then when it didn't happen he just gave this (reaction) and walked away," he said.<\/p>\n

"Credit to him. Sometimes the emotions can get (to you), you want to speak to the umpire have a discussion but he said nothing doing, that's that, let's get going."<\/p>\n

The incident came with India 1-68 after England were bowled out for 353 on the morning of day two following Joe Root's century<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rohit Sharma was dismissed early for two before Jaiswal and Shubman Gill formed a partnership.<\/p>\n

Jaiswal managed to pass the half-century mark after he was given not out but Gill (38) and Rajat Patidar (17) both departed.<\/p>\n
