New Zealand<\/a> batter Glenn Phillips<\/a> \ufeffhas produced one of the more iconic mic'd up moments during his side's loss to Australia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With the Black Caps 4-33 after 7.1 overs chasing 175, Phillips, who had a microphone on him connected to the TVNZ broadcast, needed all his focus and asked commentators Scotty Stevenson and Craig McMillan to be quiet.<\/p>\n

"C\ufeffan I ask you guys a small favour?," he said during Adam Zampa's over.<\/p>\n

"Just while I'm fac\ufeffing (can you be quiet), because I can hear you guys at the same time, just while I'm facing and in between balls you can talk."<\/p>\n

Straight after the message was received loud and clear, Phillips \ufeffwent bang, hitting Zampa into the crowd over long-on for a massive six.<\/p>\n

"That's what focus will do for you," Stevenson exclaimed.<\/p>\n

"Oh yes, he knew \ufeffwhat he wanted GP, he didn't want to hear me and you Scotty, he wanted to concentrate and what a blow that is," McMillan added.<\/p>\n

As the over progressed, Stevenson went on to assure viewers their voices are out of his ear when Phillips is facing up.<\/p>\n

The next over, with the commentators notably tentative to speak to Phillips, \ufeffthe 27-year-old poked fun at the two men in the box.<\/p>\n

"You can talk at the moment, don't be shy\ufeff," he laughed.<\/p>\n

Three balls later, Phillips received a shorter delivery from Mitch Marsh and skied a hook shot, but luckily it fell short of the fielder.<\/p>\n

The batter's frustration was picked up by the microphone.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It wasn't even that short, what the heck?," he said.<\/p>\n

"Get legside of it GP, what are you doing?\ufeff"<\/p>\n
