NRL<\/a> boss Andrew Abdo<\/a> is confident players will heed a warning over deadly drug fentanyl during the trip to Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

\ufeffA top police officer from the famed American city addressed all four clubs – Brisbane, Manly, South Sydney, and the Roosters – before their arrival this week.<\/p>\n

Among his advice was a warning over fentanyl, which is a synthetic drug used by doctors to treat severe pain.<\/p>\n

It's said to be up to 100 times more potent that heroin and can be deadly if ingested in the wrong manner.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWe're fully aware, those risks exist here in Australia, they exist anywhere around the world," Abdo told Nine's Today<\/em> on Friday.<\/p>\n

\"NRL<\/p>\n

"It's not \ufeffa major concern for us.<\/p>\n

"The main\ufeff thing was to ensure that everyone who's travelling – players, fans, officials – are well educated and understand the risks of travelling overseas in any environment.<\/p>\n

"The players are well informed, they are professionals.\ufeff They're in camps, all four teams have arrived safely and they're hard at work training."<\/p>\n

The NRL is desperate for players to be on their best behaviour during the league's inaugural foray into the American sporting market.<\/p>\n

Already a number of stars had to front the US embassy in Sydney in order to get permission to fly to the States, given past legal trouble.<\/p>\n

Broncos captains Adam Reynolds and Patrick Carrigan put their trips in jeopardy when they were filmed drunkenly wrestling only a week before flying out.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The last thing the NRL – and commission chairman Peter V'landys – wants is to be embarrassed on the international stage by any off-field indiscretions in Sin City.<\/p>\n

But the players have been briefed and Abdo is confident it will be smooth sailing.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffThere's risks associated with any major event, (and) we've taken the necessary precautions to mitigate those risks," he said.<\/p>\n

"The players are professionals, and we've seen the last few years \ufeffunbelievable role modelling from the players.<\/p>\n

"They take their job really seriously, they train \ufeffreally hard.<\/p>\n

"There is also genuine excitement among the playing group for this opportunity… I'm not concerned at all."<\/p>\n
