M\ufeffitchell Marsh<\/a> has hinted at Australia's likely batting order for the T20 World Cup<\/a>, claiming the side is "pretty set" moving into a crucial series against New Zealand.<\/p>\n

The recently-crowned Allan Border Medal winner<\/a> is set to captain the side against the Black Caps in a three-game series beginning on Wednesday evening, with the all-rounder potentially in the mix to lead the side at this year's major tournament.<\/p>\n

Marsh is expected to remain in the top order for the Aussies throughout the year while retiring opener David Warner<\/a> will be joined by Travis Head<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The star-studded nature of the batting lineup could leave Steve Smith<\/a> on the outer, with Marsh shying away from answering questions about the Test opener's role.<\/p>\n

"You'll just have to wait and find out the team at the toss," he told reporters.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"I think our top-order is pretty set moving forward, but I don't think everyone is gonna play all three games.<\/p>\n

"I've batted No. 3 for the last 18 months, so I'll be there. Head and Warner have been amazing for us over the last period of time. I dare say that will be the top three."<\/p>\n

Marsh was also full of praise for middle-order bat Tim David, who has become an integral part of the green and gold set-up in recent years.<\/p>\n

The big-hitting \ufeffright-hander will likely slot into the floating spot for the New Zealand series and through the World Cup, with his skipper stoked to have him on board.<\/p>\n

"Players like Tim are a rarity … we're lucky to have him," Marsh said.<\/p>\n

"Over the last couple of years, his life has changed. He's become a phenomenal player in that role, and there's no doubt he's going to play a big part for us."<\/p>\n

As for the captaincy role, Marsh ensured he is taking it one step at a time, even with the return of Pat Cummins to the shortest format.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"I'm not auditioning for the role – I'm here to do a job and I'm very proud to captain Australia – those decisions will be made over the coming months," he said.<\/p>\n

"I can't wait to tell him [Cummins] what to do. I'm normally filling in for his press conferences when he's had enough, so I'll get him back at some stage."<\/p>\n
