After a fine debut season in which they were in the hunt for finals honours until a late fadeout, the Dolphins<\/a> have come up with three quality signings.<\/p>\n

Herbie Farnworth (Broncos), Thomas Flegler (Broncos) and Jake Averillo (Bulldogs) are all top-flight players who will walk into the Dolphins' starting 13.<\/p>\n

It's a vastly different story to their recruitment last season, when they kept missing their major targets and had to settle for second best.<\/p>\n

Despite being tipped to finish last by most critics as a result, the Dolphins won a commendable nine games and could have made the finals but for the collapse as the pressure heated up late in the season.<\/p>\n

Add the big three recruits to the team that showed so much heart last season and the Dolphins are a huge chance of September football in their second season.<\/p>\n

Farnworth was great last weekend in the trial win over the Titans and is shaping as one of the best signings of 2024.<\/p>\n

Five-eighth shapes as the biggest headache for master coach Wayne Bennett in round one.<\/p>\n

Ex-Panther cub Isaiya Katoa was great when given a chance last season, Anthony Milford is in the mix and the versatile Kodi Nikorima was also dangerous at No.6 late in the season.<\/p>\n

The forwards pick themselves, with Flegler adding experience and leadership.<\/p>\n
