W\ufeffarriors<\/a> rookie Zyon Maiu'u will have a case to answer after he was sent off for a dangerous hit on Wests Tigers<\/a> recruit Declan Casey.<\/p>\n

In the first half of trial match between the sides, Maiu'u made direct contact with the head of Casey who was knocked out from the force.<\/p>\n

A significant delay followed \ufeffwith Casey taken off in a medicab.<\/p>\n

Once matters were taken care of with Casey, referee Chris Sutton was left with no choice but to send off Maiu'u, with the decision coming as a surprise to captain Marcelo Montoya.<\/p>\n

"Sent off? Sent off?," he replied.<\/p>\n

Despite Montoya's confusion, rugby league great Corey Parker<\/a> believed the referee handled it well.<\/p>\n

"It's been a bit of a rule over the last couple of seasons but explained very well there," he said on Fox League.<\/p>\n

"Significant force, direct to the head … he's just overcooked it there, our thoughts with Declan Casey."<\/p>\n

With a one-man advantage, the Tigers ended the first half leading 12-6.<\/p>\n

Alex Seyfarth and Aidan Sezer were the tryscorers, while Jacob Laban went over for the Warriors.<\/p>\n

The indiscretions weren't \ufeffjust from Maiu'u either, with Tigers rookie Samuela Fainu put on report for a high shot in the dying minutes of the first half.<\/p>\n
