Tottenham<\/a> manager Ange Postecoglou<\/a> has poured cold water on the suggestion he could take over from Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool<\/a> after the icon's decision to quit at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Postecoglou has previously admitted to being a Liverpool supporter and reports suggested he's on a shortlist of candidates to replace Klopp<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Australian currently has Tottenham in fourth, fighting for a Champions League position, impressing fans and pundits after the club finished eighth last season and lost Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n

Asked about the link to Liverpool ahead of his side's clash with Wolves, Postecoglou claimed he has no interest. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"I may be on a shortlist. I don't think I want to say anything about that because I don't think that's ever going to enter my brain space for what are my priorities in life and my profession right now," he said.<\/p>\n

The former Socceroos coach was then asked about whether he feels he's just getting started at Spurs, to which he replied bluntly. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"Well, I am (just getting started. Not just feel \u2014 I am. I've only been here seven months, so that's self-explanatory," he said.<\/p>\n

"I've been at pains to say we've still got a long way to go\ufeff in terms of the football we want to play, the team we want to be and the squad we want to have. We've had two positive (transfer) windows, I think we've had a decent campaign so far but we've got a long way to go."<\/p>\n

Pressed further on whether \ufeffthere's any doubt he'll be at Spurs next season, the 58-year-old wasn't going to assure anyone, only due to the volatile nature of management.<\/p>\n

"That's the funny space when we talk about managers. When we're not going well, then there's questions about whether we're going to be here," he said.<\/p>\n

"When you're potentially going OK, there's still questions about whether you're going to be here. The reality of it is \u2014 most of it is out of our hands.<\/p>\n

"I've never been worried, I've never thought about that, I've got a history of 26 years of management where you can see pretty clearly what I do. I rely on that as my explanation as to where my thought processes are with all those kinds of things.<\/p>\n

"Right now it's about finishing this season with Tottenham and making sure that we try and establish a really strong foundation for who we want to be in years to come and that can only happen if I'm totally focused on what these last 14 games can bring for us."<\/p>\n

The questions didn't end for Postecoglou on Liverpool links though.<\/p>\n

With his childhood support in mind, the Tottenham manager was asked if he was flattered by any interest.<\/p>\n

However, Postecoglou wasn't taking it too seriously due to the nature of the reports.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Well, it depends, if it's just people throwing up names then who cares? Like seriously, It doesn't matter," he said.<\/p>\n

"But at the end of the day, if I'm doing a good job then hopefully people will acknowledge that in one form or another \u2014 whatever that form is.<\/p>\n
