Rabbitohs, Roosters and Broncos fans will be sweating in the wake of the NRL All Stars<\/a>, with three of the game's hottest stars suffering injuries during the clash. \ufeff<\/p>\n

During a rainy affair in Townsville, the Indigenous side proved too strong \ufeffwith a 22-14 victory over the Maori – but it might have come at a cost for a few big names.<\/p>\n

Latrell Mitchell<\/a> and Kotoni Staggs<\/a> pushed through the pain barrier despite copping knocks, with \ufeffboth Aboriginal powerhouses seeing out the 80 minutes.<\/p>\n

Mitchell was spotted being attended to by trainers for a suspected knee injury, but stayed on the field and moved out of his fullback position and told Nine post-game that it was "just a graze", while Staggs was removed briefly with a shoulder issue but managed to return to the fold.<\/p>\n

The news might not be as positive for Brandon Smith<\/a> however, with the Maori hooker forced off for a HIA and clutching his surgically repaired jaw after copping an accidental high shot in the second half.<\/p>\n

Smith suffered a broken jaw in 2020 while playing for the Storm and immediately went to the ground after the contact, before being attended to by a Maori trainer and walking off the field as the game slipped away from the Maori side.\ufeff<\/p>\n

\n"He's most probably trying to say he's okay because he wants to go to Vegas now," Maori head coach Adam Blair said post-game.\n<\/p>\n

"It's a little bit unfortunate for the Cheese, but he'll be right."<\/p>\n

Cronulla fans will be licking their lips after Friday night's contest however, with halves pairing Nicho Hynes<\/a> and Braydon Trindall leading the Indigenous side with some classy moments less than a month out from the NRL season.<\/p>\n

After combining towards the back-end of last season for the Sharks, the playmakers looked to be on the same page and complimenting each other perfectly, with Trindall especially showing his enormous potential and claiming the coveted Preston Campbell Medal for player of the match.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old pivot set up two tries in the first half, with his short-kicking game proving to be an issue for the Maori to contain, while Hynes showed his usual flair with ball in hand and steered the ship, as well as setting up a second-half try.<\/p>\n

Joseph Tapine<\/a> opened the scoring for the clash in the third minute, but J\ufeffosh Addo-Carr hit back and crossed for a double inside the opening 17 minute, before teammate Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow crossed and gave a nod to his totem in trademark fashion.<\/p>\n

It was anyone's game at the 40-minute mark as the players were clearly showing the impact of the wet and muggy Townsville conditions, but it was the Indigenous outfit who were able to handle the narrow encounter with class and physicality.<\/p>\n

In a further boost for the Sharks, the performance of Royce Hunt was certainly eye-catching as the Maori enforcer\ufeff showed his brute force and aggression, including an incredible carry off the back fence from a kickoff.<\/p>\n

Alofi Khan-Pereira got the chance to show off his blistering speed in the second half with a try before Broncos young gun \ufeffXavier Willison scored a late consolation try for the Maori and was dubbed 'their best player' by Andrew Johns during the broadcast.<\/p>\n
