A clearly downtrodden Stefanos Tsitsipas has bristled at reporters after crashing out of the Australian Open in straight sets by the hand of Daniil Medvedev.<\/a><\/p>\n

It was an unceremonious end for Tsitsipas who has now found himself in two semi-finals in three showing at Melbourne Park, after failing to take it to the next level on Friday night thanks to a domineering display from his Russian opponent.<\/p>\n

Clearly feeling the effects of his five-set epic against Rafael Nadal just two nights ago,<\/a> the Greek struggled to impress himself on the match, quickly coughing up a two-set lead before a third-set fightback was also smothered by Medvedev.<\/p>\n

Not one to shy away from his emotions, a clearly upset Tsitsipas did his best to front awaiting media after his loss but couldn't resist shutting down a question or two.<\/p>\n

Asked for his prediction as to who would emerge victorious in Sunday's final between Medvedev and Novak Djokovic, Tsitsipas was blunt.<\/p>\n

"Look, I'm not a betting website. I don't know what to say," he said.<\/p>\n

"I wouldn't be surprised to see Daniil win the tournament\u2026I don't know. Like, Djokovic is playing well too. Might be Medvedev, would be good for him, good for tennis."<\/p>\n

Despite his less than enthusiastic forecast for Sunday's final, Tsitsipas was nothing but complimentary for his opponent's game.<\/p>\n

It's a far cry from the terse words the two have shared over the years which once saw Tsitsipas publicly decry Medvedev's style of tennis as "boring", but on Friday night it appeared water under the bridge.<\/p>\n

"He's a player who has unlocked pretty much everything in the game," Tsitsipas said this time around.<\/p>\n

"It's like he's reading the game really well. He has this amazing serve which I would describe close to John Isner's serve. And then he has amazing baseline which makes it extremely difficult. So even if you return the serve, you don't guarantee that you're going to win the point.<\/p>\n

"You have to really work hard for it. It's difficult\u2026and I'm sure all the hard work that he has been putting and the hours on the court have benefited a lot. He tricks you. You know, he plays the game really smart. It's really interesting to see that."<\/p>\n
