Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Russell<\/a> are officially world record holders, hitting 139 runs together to secure the highest ever T20I<\/a> sixth wicket partnership.<\/p>\n

The duo helped the West Indies<\/a> defeat Australia by 37 runs, scoring their first win of the series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Russell's 71 off 29 balls was his highest ever score in the format, and Rutherford's total his highest ever in only his 12th match.<\/p>\n

West Indies captain Rovman Powell won the toss and elected to bat in Perth, and the side was in significant trouble early at 3-17.<\/p>\n

When Russell entered the ground, the West Indies were 5-79 and in need of rescuing.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old went on the counter attack in typical fashion, combining with Rutherford to take the game away from Australia.<\/p>\n

When Russell departed off the bowling of Spencer Johnson, the score was 6-218 in the last over, with the entertaining all-rounder's innings including seven sixes.<\/p>\n

"He's a serious entertainer … he's put the West Indies into a strong position in this game," Australian great Mike Hussey said on Fox Cricket.<\/p>\n

The West Indies finished their innings at 6-220.<\/p>\n

In response, David Warner was the only player to look overly comfortable for Australia, scoring 81. Post-match, Warner confirmed it was his final international match in Australia.<\/p>\n

Tim David provided some late entertainment, hitting 41 not out by ultimately his side fell short, finishing 5-183\ufeff.<\/p>\n

Romario Shepherd (2-31) and Roston Chase (2-19) were the \ufeffbest of the bowlers with the latter praising Russell's impact on the match.<\/p>\n
