S\ufeffan Francisco<\/a> were forced to evacuate their team hotel prior to the Super Bowl<\/a> – and according to Christian McCaffrey and his mother Lisa, it was an 'inside job'.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the blockbuster NFL<\/a> decider against Kansas City<\/a> on Monday morning (AEDT), players and staff from the 49ers were woken up by a fire alarm at their accommodation in Las Vegas, just a few days out from the game at Allegiant Stadium.<\/p>\n

Multiple players – including McCaffrey and defensive end Nick Bosa – were unhappy with the 25-minute disturbance, especially after learning it was a false alarm.<\/p>\n

And according to the superstar running back, who finished as a finalist at this year's NFL Honours, there was likely someone behind the incident.<\/p>\n

"I think there's no way it's random," McCaffrey said.<\/p>\n

"It's part of it. It's just more wood thrown on the fire."<\/p>\n

Bosa also expressed his frustration and likened it to a similar situation involving the Eagles at last year's Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

"I'm sure somebody did it," he said.<\/p>\n

"It kind of reminded me of Philly when they had this construction going on outside. It was early in the morning and they were like demolishing a bridge right outside of our hotel. We haven't had the best luck … but no excuses."\ufeff<\/p>\n

More fuel was thrown on the fire by McCaffrey's mother, who explained the details of the false emergency during an episode of her Your Mom<\/em> podcast.<\/p>\n

"A little insider info, they did have the alarm pulled at 6am at the hotel," she said.<\/p>\n

"100 per cent [it was an inside job] because there was no emergency supposedly.<\/p>\n

"Their hotel is big-time lockdown, so I don't think it was a fan infiltrating.<\/p>\n

"I bet it was maybe an employee from Kansas City."<\/p>\n
