Alana King has starred for two very different reasons in Australia's victory in South Africa, helping to secure \ufeffa 2-1 ODI series win on Saturday. <\/p>\n

The 28-year-old produced a stellar bowling display after a lengthy rain delay to steer the Aussies home at North Sydney Oval by 110 runs. \ufeff<\/p>\n

But it was t\ufeffowards the end of Australia's batting innings that King had another highlight – and a comical one at that. <\/p>\n

The all-rounder attempted to pull a full-toss from Masabata Klaas and accidentally hit her own stumps, with the bails immediately dislodged and the talented leg-spinner laying on the turf in complete dismay.<\/p>\n

But after the square-leg umpire deemed the delivery a no-ball, King was awarded a six and the South African seamer was forced to bowl it again, to which the Aussie star sent it over the rope once again in a cruel twist of fate.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"Alana King has gone deep in the crease, looking to get that lengthy delivery that she can elevate through deep mid-wicket," commentator Mel Jones said on Fox Cricket.<\/p>\n

"Instead, she gets a waist-high full-toss and tried to defend herself and find the boundary. She swivels around and cleans her stumps up."<\/p>\n

Her teammates on the sidelines had stunned looks on their faces after the comedic turn of events, with the other Fox Cricket commentator pointing out the reaction.<\/p>\n

"You see the confusion on everyone's faces as to what's happened there," she said. \ufeff<\/p>\n

King was ultimately dismissed by Klaas for a quickfire camero of 17 from 12 balls. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Australia posted 9\/277 from their 50 overs, with experienced batters Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney leading the charge.<\/p>\n

The skipper got things off to a flyer at North Sydney Oval, scoring 60 off 73 balls after her partner Phoebe Litchfield (5) fell \ufeffin the sixth over.<\/p>\n

Mooney \ufeffkept the ball rolling through the middle overs and remained unbeaten, finishing with 82 off 91 balls, while right-hander Tahlia McGrath (44 off 35) gave plenty of quick support at the crease.<\/p>\n

South Africa\ufeff's run-chase got off to a poor start, losing 4-63 within 14 overs before rain forced the players off the field.<\/p>\n

After the delay, Australia cruised home to wrap up the series, with King finishing with 4-21 off four overs, including an agonising near-miss for a hat-trick. <\/p>\n

Tahlia McGrath (3-23) also had a strong night with the ball, while Kim Garth (3-14) tore through the South African top-order before the weather turned sour. <\/p>\n
