Rabbitohs<\/a> star C\ufeffody Walker<\/a> will miss the All Stars<\/a> clash and is in doubt for the NRL<\/a> season opener against Manly in Las Vegas after succumbing to a calf injury.<\/p>\n

The five-eighth was set to captain the Indigenous side on February 16 in Townsville, but will not make the trip or join the camp.<\/p>\n

Head coach Ronnie Griffiths confirmed the news on Saturday and claimed the South Sydney playmaker was disappointed by the setback.<\/p>\n

"I spoke to him before I boarded a flight from Brisbane, he told me he did his calf and was out," he told The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Walker's absence will see Cronulla duo Nicho Hynes and Braydon Trindall line up in the halves on Friday night, with a new captain yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

The 34-year-old's injury is reportedly a grade one strain, but he will be sent for scans to determine the full extent and potential return-to-play timeframe.<\/p>\n

Jack Wighton<\/a> is unavailable due to suspension, which means Dean Hawkins is the only other noted playmaking option in the top 30 roster with first-grade experience.<\/p>\n
