Rising Australian talent Min Woo Lee<\/a>'s cult figure status has scaled new heights off the back of a viral stunt at the PGA Tour<\/a>'s Phoenix Open.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of spectators \ufeffcongregated to follow the reigning Australian PGA champion<\/a> across the opening two days in Scottsdale, Arizona.<\/p>\n

Many \ufeffdonned red chef hats with Lee's beloved catch cry, 'Let him cook', emblazed on them.<\/p>\n

Lee famously \ufeffdonned a chef hat on the 17th green at the Australian PGA Championships to celebrate his victory with the merry crowd surrounding the "party hole". The 25-year-old previously said he had no idea where a chefs hat came from<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lee recently partnered with \ufeffathletic apparel company Lululemon, with the bizarre sight of a sea of red chefs hats a marketing stunt by the brand.<\/p>\n

To promote Lululemon's golf gear, the group was also decked out in a uniform of white khakis, blue polos and golf shoes with the company's logo.<\/p>\n

The Perth product gave \ufeffhis supporters something to cheer about at the third hole when he chipped in for an eagle from the rough. He soon followed with a birdie in quick succession as the crowd chanted, "Let him cook".<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, \ufeffCanadian golfer Nick Taylor<\/a> matched the course record at TPC Scottdale with an 11-under-par 60 to take the first-round lead.<\/p>\n

Taylor's round was completed over two days as rain stopped play on Thursday with the world No.55 having only worked through six holes. He held a five-stroke lead before recommencing on Friday.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old \ufeffhit a nine-foot birdie on the 16th, his seventh hole, and another on the 19th.<\/p>\n

But on the front nine, he chalked up three straight birdies, and another birdie on the par-four fifth before finishing off by sinking birdie putts on his final two holes on the eighth and ninth.<\/p>\n

"It felt like I was seeing the lines great. [My] speed was awesome. I don't know what to say. I've probably never putted that well," Taylor said.<\/p>\n

"I drove it great, ball in hand and was hitting my irons nice, and I essentially made every putt I looked at. It was a day that you didn't want it to end.<\/p>\n

"Luckily I'm going to play another round here, so hopefully I can keep that going.<\/p>\n

"But everything has worked really well."<\/p>\n

The course record of 60 has been matched four times previously, most recently by Phil Mickelson in 2013.<\/p>\n
