Jake Fraser\ufeff-McGurk<\/a> has well and truly arrived on the Australian cricketing scene.<\/p>\n

After a disappointing start on debut in the second ODI at the SCG<\/a> where he smashed a six and four before being caught behind, he made no mistakes in Canberra on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old helped Australia to the fastest completed ODI victory on home soil, defeating the West Indies by a whopping eight wickets with 259 balls to spare<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fraser-McGurk opened the batting as Australia chased just 87 for victory, then went on to smash 41 runs off just 18 deliveries.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Headlined by eight boundaries (five 4s, three 6s), the opening batsman\ufeff remained humbled after his insane innings at the crease.<\/p>\n

"It's good to be able to have some self-belief if I ever get picked again," Fraser-McGurk said post match.<\/p>\n

"To know that I can get out there and do it at the highest level, personally it's great and to come away with a 3-0 series win is even better.<\/p>\n

"I think that's just sort of the way I've gone about it this year and that's the change in mindset. It's really helped me to go out there and play with freedom. <\/p>\n

"You need to get the coach's backing and especially your teammates' backing. If they're happy with it, by all means go out there and play with freedom."<\/p>\n

The Melbourne Renegades BBL star reflected on his failed debut with bat in hand, but took confidence from captain Steve Smith's belief in the youngster, despite his innings being cut short in the second ODI.<\/p>\n

"They (Smith and Vettori) thought it was good intent (in second ODI). It was more of a mental thing, not really fully-committing to that shot. I worked a bit on that and tried to get my head towards the ball. I worked on that before the game here," Fraser-McGurk said.<\/p>\n

"They thought it was good and they obviosuly want more than 10 from their opening batsman, so to go out there and get 40 today, I was really happy."<\/p>\n

Kerry O'Keefe lauded Fraser-McGurk's performance, labelling his game style "Jake-ball".<\/p>\n

"Bazball is so yesterday, it's now Jake-ball!" O'Keefe said on Fox commentary.<\/p>\n

Australia white washed the ODI series 3-0\ufeff, with Xavier Bartlett taking 4-21 in another player of the match performance.<\/p>\n
