B\ufeffrisbane<\/a> has been given a major boost heading into the NRL<\/a> season, with electric playmaker Ezra Mam<\/a> re-signing with the club until the end of 2029.<\/p>\n

The five-eighth had been one of the most in-demand players throughout the off-season, with his stellar hat-trick performance in last year's agonising grand final loss to Penrith announcing him as one of the competition's brightest young stars. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Mam had been linked with a potential move to the Dolphins, but has opted to knock back the advancements of the NRL's newest club and commit to the Broncos long-term, inking a five-year extension announced on Tuesday morning by the club.<\/p>\n

At 21 years of age, Mam now has the security and ability to maintain Brisbane's premiership window for the next half a decade.<\/p>\n

"Ezra is a born-and-bred Bronco and it's great that he is staying where he belongs," Broncos coach Kevin Walters said.<\/p>\n

"He is an exciting player but he also likes to get in there and do the tough stuff and to do what needs to be done for his team.<\/p>\n

"We have only scratched the surface on what Ez can do \u2013 we'll keep on working with him to improve his game and I can't wait to see what we can achieve together over the years ahead."<\/p>\n

Mam has scored 24 tries in 36 first grade appearances to date, with his fleet-footedness and blistering speed causing headaches for opposition defences.<\/p>\n

The talented Ipswich product \ufeffhas been earmarked to become Brisbane's long-term halfback, with captain Adam Reynolds<\/a> likely to retire by the end of 2025.<\/p>\n

He was recently named in Queensland's extended squad<\/a> for the State of Origin series, placing him firmly in the mix for representative selection behind incumbent halves Cameron Munster and Daly Cherry-Evans.<\/p>\n
