F\ufefformer West Coast Eagles star Ben Cousins<\/a> has revealed his newest venture, declaring that he is in a "pretty good space" after a tumultuous few years.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old premiership player and Brownlow medallist will officially join the celebrity TV Show Dancing With The Stars<\/em> in 2024.<\/p>\n

Cousins turned his life around by taking on television roles in Perth across 2023.<\/p>\n

Now he says he is finally feeling like he's "found himself" for the first time in a long time away from his decorated AFL career.<\/p>\n

"I went through that whole electronic music time and the raves and festivals, that was probably the only time I have ever found myself on the dancefloor," Cousins told News Corp.<\/p>\n

\"Ben<\/p>\n

"The question (of doing Dancing With The Stars<\/em>) has been asked in the past.<\/p>\n

"I'm just in a pretty good space at the moment and am in a position to take on some new challenges and this has come along and probably for the first time in quite a while I am in a position to give it a go.<\/p>\n

"This worked for where I was at mentally and wanting to throw myself into something."<\/p>\n

The star midfielder has been in the spotlight over the last decade for all the wrong reasons, but has recently been on a changed path, which includes attending the 2021 and 2023 Brownlow Medal<\/a> nights and the Australian Open in 2024.<\/p>\n

"I have no dance experience at all. There is an element of excitement, but it is probably pretty close to fear as well, I think the fear of doing it.<\/p>\n

"I have enjoyed it so far, the training, long sessions, long days, it hasn't been work at all."<\/p>\n

Upon reflection, Cousins says he is keen to move on from his rocky past, as he simply strives to reignite his passion for the good things in life.<\/p>\n

"I can't change what has happened in the past. All I can do is make the most of today," Cousins said.<\/p>\n

"One of the things I have enjoyed is getting back my ambition.\ufeff"<\/p>\n
