The Socceroos<\/a> crashed out of the Asian Cup<\/a> in a quarter-final defeat to South Korea on Saturday morning (AEDT).<\/p>\n

Solid handling and distribution throughout the contest, was brave when he came out to smother from Lee Jae-sung in the second half and came up with a big double save in the first half of extra time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Defensively solid and looked to push on and get involved in the attack. Set up the opening goal for Craig Goodwin with a lovely floated cross.<\/p>\n

Strong and composed defensively alongside Harry Souttar and prevented the South Korean attack clear chances despite soaking up heavy pressure, particularly in the second half.<\/p>\n

Strong in the air and provided some crucial blocks and tackles. Was pushed up front in the second half of extra time to provide a physical presence for Australia.<\/p>\n

Defensively sound and showed some lovely touches while providing his usual energy out wide.<\/p>\n

Connor Metcalfe (5.5)<\/h2>\n

Missed a glorious chance in the first half as he fluffed his lines from a parried Goodwin shot. Looked to push forward when the opportunity presented itself to support in attack.<\/p>\n

Sloppy in possession early on but worked tirelessly to help protect Australia's defensive line and did a commendable job on Son Heung-min.<\/p>\n

Jackson Irvine (6)<\/h2>\n

Struggled for touches in the first half, but worked himself into the game with some neat passes while performing his defensive duties diligently.<\/p>\n

Martin Boyle (5)<\/h2>\n

Struggled to involve himself and saw his free header parried away after connecting onto Goodwin cross in the second half.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mitchell Duke (6)<\/h2>\n

Dropped in to help defensively and worked hard up front, missed a couple of golden chances in the second half as he blasted a volley over from a parried shot and a diving header wide late on.<\/p>\n

Was Australia's biggest attacking threat as he opened the scoring with a crisp volley and set up another chance for Boyle in the second half, who failed to capitalise from his whipped cross which would have doubled Australia's lead.\u00a0<\/p>\n
