L\ufeffewis Hamilton<\/a> is yet to set foot near Maranello but his transfer to Ferrari<\/a> has already made the team a billion-dollar fortune.<\/p>\n

Hamilton sent the motorsport world into a spin on Friday morning when it was announced that he would depart Mercedes to join rival top-tier team Ferrari on a multi-year deal from 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following confirmation of the switch, Ferrari's share price increased by six per cent, with the company's value rising by $6.12 billion.<\/p>\n

On the same day as the \ufeffannouncement, Ferrari announced record financial results in 2023 which included continuous growth in revenues and earnings.<\/p>\n

"2023 was a very successful year, during which we strengthened our brand through a number of achievements reflected in our unprecedented financial results. For the first time, our net profit, up 34 per cent, exceeded 1 billion Euro and the annual EBITDA margin rose to 38.2 per cent," Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said.<\/p>\n

Ferrari's share price soared to a record high of $588 on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday and the company's market value increased to around $105 billion.<\/p>\n

The \ufeffcarmaker is now approaching the milestone \ufeffof USD$100 billion ($153,551,000) in market value with the help of the seven-time world champion.<\/p>\n

Multiple publications have reported that Hamilton is set to earn an eye-watering $153 million per year under his new deal with the Scuderia. This would take into account Hamilton's base salary, sponsorship deals, image rights and performance-based bonuses.<\/p>\n

This is a $69 \ufeffmillion increase from Hamilton's current two-year contract with Mercedes<\/a>, which sees him pocket $84 million per year.<\/p>\n

The \ufeffsalary will make Hamilton one of the highest-paid drivers in the F1<\/a> team's history, drawing comparisons to Michael Schumacher's record stay.<\/p>\n

Hamilton only finalised the extension with Mercedes last August \u2014 committing to the 2024 and 2025 seasons \u2014\ufeff but activated a release clause in the deal which permitted him to join Ferrari halfway through from 2025.<\/p>\n

Hamilton's shock exit from Brackley terminates an 11-year association with Mercedes, which began in 2013 and saw him win six of the world drivers' championships between 2014 and 2020.<\/p>\n

He finished the 2023 season third in the driver standings behind Red Bull partners Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.<\/p>\n
