L\ufeffauren Cheatle will take no further part in the WPL or domestic cricket season, after having surgery to remove a skin cancer on her neck.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old\ufeff underwent the procedure on Wednesday. Back in 2021, she had a similar operation for the same issue on her leg.<\/p>\n

Cricket New South Wales<\/a> confirmed the left-arm quick will return to formal duties after this season draws to a close.<\/p>\n

"Cheatle is aiming to return to training with NSW following the players' scheduled off-season break," a statement said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Cheatle was signed with the Gujarat Giants in the WPL, but will now not take part in the competition that is set to begin on February 23.<\/p>\n

It's another huge setback for the young star, who has continued to battle injuries that have put her career on hold.<\/p>\n

Headlined by three shoulder reconstructions, Cheatle finally made her well awaited Test debut in August of 2023.<\/p>\n

It was her first appearance for her country since March 2019.\ufeff<\/p>\n
