A\ufeffsh Gardner<\/a> has taken out the coveted Belinda Clark Award for the second time in her career, capping off a stellar campaign for Australia.<\/p>\n

The all-rounder has continued to be one of the national side's most consistent performers, with her efforts in last year's Ashes series \ufeffputting her in the box-seat to win the award again after claiming it in 2022.<\/p>\n

Gardner finished with 147 votes, beating Ellyse Perry (134) and Annabel Sutherland (106) to emerge victorious.<\/p>\n

\ufeffIn her acceptance speech, the all-rounder joked and compared herself to Mitchell Marsh, who earlier took out the Allan Border Medal<\/a>, before delivering a heartfelt tribute to her family and partner Monica for their continued support.<\/p>\n

"I also don't have a speech prepared – I don't think I will be as funny as Mitch," she said.<\/p>\n

"Firstly, just to thank my cricket family. Going away for a lot of the year, it's a lot easier with all of my teammates and all the support staff.<\/p>\n

"My family – you obviously know what you mean to me, you're always there. You pretty much come to every single game, whether it's grade cricket or I'm playing for Australia.<\/p>\n

"And of course, my partner Mon – you see the good days, you see the bad days but it's people like you that make playing cricket a lot more enjoyable."<\/p>\n

Gardner was once seen as a big-hitting batter and part-time bowler, but has become one of the Aussie side's most reliable and lethal weapons with ball in hand, with her match figures of 12-165 the second-highest in women's Test cricket history.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the night, Gardner also picked up the Community Impact Award for her work with Indigenous youth through her self-named foundation.<\/p>\n
