I\ufeffndian cricketer Mayank Agarwal has reportedly been rushed to hospital following a mid-flight emergency.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old began complaining to the staff of abdominal pain and a burning sensation in his mouth and throat during the journey on an IndiGo flight.<\/p>\n

According to ESPN Cricinfo, Agarwal was travelling from Agartala to Surat via New Delhi ahead of a Ranji Trophy fixture.<\/p>\n

Police are now investigating the incident, where it is believed Agarwal drank a liquid he believed to be water before succumbing to the illness.<\/p>\n

"Mayank Agarwal, an international cricket player. Now he is stable and his vitals are normal. But his manager has lodged a specific complaint," superintendent Kiran Kumar told the Press Trust of India.<\/p>\n

"While sitting on a flight, he saw a pouch in front of him and thinking of it as water, drank it. He had swelling and ulcers in his mouth.<\/p>\n

"His condition is normal, and his vitals are stable. His manager has made a complaint. We are registering the complaint and will investigate the matter.<\/p>\n

"There was a pouch in front of him, he drank a little bit, not much and then suddenly he started to feel irritation in his mouth and he couldn't talk."\ufeff<\/p>\n

The airline also released their own statement detailing the sequence of events, revealing the plane 'returned to origin' before offloading Agarwal to receive medical assistance.<\/p>\n
