Adelaide Crows<\/a> veteran Rory Sloane<\/a> has suffered a pre-season setback and is set to be sidelined after suffering a detached retina.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old\ufeff underwent surgery on Tuesday night and is on bed rest until further notice.<\/p>\n

The 255-gamer \ufeffwas experiencing symptoms – similar to when he had the same surgery in 2021 – when he returned to training last week.<\/p>\n

The club has downplayed the severity of the surgery, confirming Sloane will remain at home for five days before being assessed on his steps back into training.<\/p>\n

"Pleasingly the surgery has been a success and Rory is now in recovery," Adelaide performance coach Darren Burgess confirmed on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

"As is typical with Sloaney, he is very positive and given he has been through this before he understands what the process will look like from here."<\/p>\n

The Crows have confirmed they will turn to specialists to ensure the club legend and two-time Crows best and fairest\ufeff winner makes a full recovery before returning to full duties.<\/p>\n

"He will spend the next five days recovering at home and given the nature of the injury we will be guided by the specialists and his recovery before deciding on a return date for training."<\/p>\n
