Manchester United<\/a> star Marcus Rashford<\/a> is facing a $1.2 million fine for being caught partying when he called in sick.<\/p>\n

Rashford was unavailable for Manchester United's FA Cup match against Newport on Monday because of illness, the club said.<\/p>\n

The club said Rashford had \u201cstayed at Carrington to train as he recovers". However, he was reportedly doing more than that.<\/p>\n

Rashford, who makes more than $600,000 a week, flew to Belfast on Thursday (AEDT) to see a friend. Leaked vision appears to show Rashford at a club on Friday.<\/p>\n

Reports in the UK state Rashford told team officials the footage was from Thursday.<\/p>\n

Video obtained by The Athletic later suggested he partied on both nights.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe $1.2 million fine equates to two weeks' wages for the English football star.<\/p>\n

It's not clear if Rashford will be available for selection for Manchester United's clash with the Wolves on Friday.<\/p>\n

Manager Ten Hag said the issues surrounding Rashford were an "internal matter" but indicated the team to play Wolves could be his strongest this year.<\/p>\n

Earlier this season, Ten Hag described Rashford taking part in birthday celebrations after United had lost a match against Manchester City as unacceptable.<\/p>\n
