Martin Guptill<\/a> can thank former Black Caps<\/a> teammate Colin Munro for saving his innings after a brutal run-out was withdrawn.<\/p>\n

Playing for the Sharjah Warriors, Guptill was at the non-striker's end when his teammate Joe Denly middled a ball directly towards the opposing batter.<\/p>\n

Disoriented, Guptill found himself out of his ground and was run out by Desert Vipers bowler Shadab Khan.<\/p>\n

Fielding captain Munro quickly came in and intervened, allowing Guptill to continue batting.<\/p>\n

"That is absolutely wonderful sportsmanship from Colin Munro," said one commentator.<\/p>\n

"The captain has called him back, there's no way that he was going to allow Martin Guptill to walk off the field when he's been clattered."<\/p>\n

Guptill appeared to have been struck on the hand by the ball and after the incident was seen shaking and rubbing his hands.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Kiwi was on 29 at the time and eventually was dismissed for 39 from 32 balls.<\/p>\n

It proved to be the difference for the Warriors, who wound up 7-174 and went on to win by seven runs after the Vipers only managed to score 7-167.<\/p>\n

Munro was among the players to ditch the Big Bash League and the Brisbane Heat early to play in the UAE-based International League T20.<\/p>\n
