West Indies<\/a> captain Kraigg Brathwaite<\/a> has launched a stunning takedown of former Australian cricketer Rodney Hogg, accusing him of calling the side "pathetic and hopeless".<\/p>\n

Brathwaite's comments came after the West Indies defeated Australia by eight runs<\/a>, their first win on Australian soil since 1997<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hogg – who played 28 Tests and averaged 28.47 with the ball – is vocal in his cricket commentary on social media and previously described Pakistan and the West Indies as "incredibly weak teams" on Facebook.<\/p>\n

Speaking after his side's amazing victory, Brathwaite couldn't hide his pride at the cricketing nation's win \ufeffand delivered a serve to Hogg in the process.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"W\ufeffe won a Test match in Australia. It does a lot for West Indies cricket. It means a lot. It's been a number of years since we've won a Test match here," he said at the post-match presentation.<\/p>\n

"But my message to the group is that this is the beginning. It's amazing, we enjoy this, but this has to continue. I'm extremely proud.<\/p>\n

"I must say we had two words that inspired us in this Test match, Mr. Rodney Hogg said that we were 'pathetic and hopeless'. That was our inspiration. We wanted to show the world we're not pathetic.<\/p>\n

"And I must ask him, are these muscles big enough for him?"<\/p>\n

Brathwaite posed the final question by flexing his biceps on stage \ufeffwhich was met by laughs and cheers from his teammates.<\/p>\n

"It's a fair response," presenter Isa Guha replied.<\/p>\n

Hogg has previously been highly critical of the West Indies, taking aim at their performances in December 2022 ahead of last summer's series.<\/p>\n
