Steve Smith<\/a> has sent a scare through the Australian<\/a> camp after he left the field with an injury on day three of the second Test<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Smith claimed a brilliant catch off the bowling o\ufefff Josh Hazlewood, diving full stretch above his head to dismiss West Indies tail-ender Alzarri Joseph.<\/p>\n

"T\ufeffhat is an absolute belter, almost as if he caught it one hand, high above his head and it's flying off the outside edge," Australian cricket great Allan Border<\/a> said on Fox Cricket.<\/p>\n

Isa Guha also described it as "elite", while New Zealand icon Ian Smith also joined in on the praise. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"That's a pearler of a catch, it really is, sometimes we take it for granted \ufeffwhen he drops the odd one but that is a harder catch than he made that look," he said.<\/p>\n

After taking the catch, Smith was captured grimacing and clutching at his hip and groin region.<\/p>\n

The opening batter then jogged off the field for treatment. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"He may have tweaked something because he's jogged off a bit gingerly," Ian Smith explained.<\/p>\n

"That looked like a hip flexor," Guha added. \ufeff<\/p>\n
