V\ufeffeteran Australian spin bowler Nathan Lyon<\/a> has declared he prefers to play pink ball Tests at Adelaide Oval.<\/p>\n

Brisbane's Gabba is playing host to this summer's day\/night Test, instead of the traditional Adelaide Oval.<\/p>\n

Lyon has expressed his dislike of the pitch after an interesting first day, which saw the highest-ever partnership recorded against Australia in a pink-ball Test<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"This is just my opinion, I feel like the right venue for pink ball Tests is Adelaide Oval," Lyon said on ABC Radio<\/a> at stumps on day one.<\/p>\n

"This wicket, I think it would be a brilliant red ball wicket.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old managed to take \ufeffthe important wicket of West Indies star Josh da Silva, who made 79 off 157 balls on day one, the highest score of the opening period.<\/p>\n

Lyon ended the 149-run partnership between da Silva and Kavem Hodge<\/a> (71 off 194 deliveries), snagging him lbw, leaving the visitors 6-213.<\/p>\n

The Windies piled on\ufeff 53 more runs before stumps.<\/p>\n

Meantime on day one, M\ufeffitchell Starc<\/a> closed the gap on the record wicket-taking tally of Dennis Lillee<\/a> after snatching four wickets on day one of the second Test against the West Indies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Starc removed Tagenarine Chanderpaul\ufeff, Alick Athanaze, Justin Greaves and Kavem Hodge in an up and down day for Australia.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old now has 352 Test wickets, putting him fifth on the all-time list for Australia. Lillee finished his career with 355.<\/p>\n

By passing the 350 mark, Starc now joined Lillee, Nathan Lyon, Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne.<\/p>\n
