The Gold Coast Titans<\/a> have a new coach in Des Hasler<\/a> – but the big question is whether they will have a new on-field general as well.<\/p>\n

Tanah Boyd has steered the ship around the park in the No.7 jumper for the last couple of seasons – with only mixed results.<\/p>\n

After being named the NSW under 19 State of Origin half last year, Weaver made his top grade debut against Penrith and didn't look out of place.<\/p>\n

At 20, the local junior is highly thought of on the Coast and will put the heat on Boyd in the trials.<\/p>\n

Can Hasler spark Fifita's career-best?\ufeff<\/h3>\n

If anyone can get the best out of enigmatic big man David Fifita<\/a>, it's Hasler.<\/p>\n

Fifita can play like the best back-rower in the game some games \u2026 and can go missing in others.<\/p>\n

For the Titans to make the finals, they need Fifita fit and firing every week.<\/p>\n

Hasler will push the barnstorming forward like he's never been pushed before in pre-season and it will be interesting to see how the goliath responds.<\/p>\n

The big fullback question\ufeff<\/h3>\n

Fullback is the other big question mark for the Titans – but the good news is they have an embarrassment of riches.<\/p>\n

Jayden Campbell and AJ Brimson are both super players who can crack a defence open and Hasler also has a rising star in youngster Keano Kini.<\/p>\n

Both Campbell and Brimson can also play centre and five-eighth so Hasler has plenty of options which will come in handy over a long season.<\/p>\n
