Australian<\/a> all-rounder Glenn Maxwell<\/a>'s 'managing' from the upcoming one-day series against the West Indies<\/a> was always planned, contrary to various reports that the star is facing disciplinary action for a night out last week in Adelaide.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old \u2013 who was in South Australia for a celebrity golf tournament \u2013 was spotted at the concert of Brett Lee's band Six and Out before being hospitalised for a short period of time.<\/p>\n

Details surrounding his hospital visit and why he required medical attention remain unclear, however police have not been involved in any capacity.<\/p>\n

Australian and West Indian Test<\/a> players were also at the venue.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Cricket Australia's decision to manage Maxwell from the white-ball series against the touring side is completely independent from the incident, with his jam-packed schedule the focal point for his resting.<\/p>\n

Maxwell will instead prepare for the T20 series against the West Indies, starting on February 9, before flying over to New Zealand for Australia's tour that begins on February 21 with a three-match T20 series in Wellington.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told the Sydney Morning Herald<\/a> they believed Maxwell was suffering dehydration.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Cricket Australia is aware of the incident.<\/p>\n

"It is not related to him being replaced in the one-day squad, a decision that was purely based on workload management following the BBL," Cricket Australia said in a statement.<\/p>\n

"Maxwell will return for the T20 series," the statement said.<\/p>\n

This is the latest in a series of off-field incidents Maxwell has been involved in. During Australia's World Cup campaign, Maxwell suffered a concussion when he fell off a golf cart in Ahmedabad and missed the match against England.<\/p>\n

In late 2022, he slipped while running at a 50th birthday party and broke his leg. He missed more than three months of cricket.<\/p>\n

He also stood down as skipper of the Melbourne Stars after they missed the BBL finals.<\/p>\n
