Golden State Warriors<\/a> assistant coach Dejan Milojevi\u0107 has died after collapsing during a team dinner on Tuesday, aged 46.<\/p>\n

Milojevi\u0107 was hospitalised in Salt Lake City after suffering a medical emergency, the team said.<\/p>\n

The seriousness of the situation led the NBA<\/a> to postpone Thursday's game between the Warriors and the Utah Jazz. The league did not immediately announce a rescheduled date.<\/p>\n

On Thursday morning (AEDT) it was confirmed \ufeffMilojevi\u0107 had died in hospital.<\/p>\n

Numerous media outlets in Europe, including from Milojevi\u0107's native Serbia, reported that it was a cardiac-related matter.<\/p>\n

The 46-year-old Milojevi\u0107 was in his third season with the Warriors and was part of the group that helped Golden State win the 2022 NBA championship.<\/p>\n

He previously coached in Serbia \u2014 where he once worked with a young Nikola Jokic before the now-Denver star and two-time NBA MVP came to the United States \u2014 along with Montenegro, plus is a past assistant coach for the Serbian national team.<\/p>\n

He had prior NBA experience through Summer League stints with Atlanta, San Antonio and Houston. Milojevi\u0107 spent 14 years as a player and was a three-time MVP of the Adriatic League.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
