Port Adelaide<\/a> is on the cusp of locking in Todd Marshall, with the forward now all but certain to stay at Alberton on a long-term deal.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old will pen a new contract of at least four years, with all parties confident an arrangement can be struck before round one at the latest.<\/p>\n

Conversations before Christmas were positive, meaning there is little doubt Marshall will be a Port player until at least the end of 2028 when he does put pen to paper.<\/p>\n

The restricted free agent, who was sure to be at the top of several wishlists around the league, has been on a modified program this pre-season due to hip surgery.<\/p>\n

The injury saw Marshall, who was briefly a member of the GWS academy as a teenager, battle through the back half of the season, often struggling to train at all during the week in order to be fit for games.<\/p>\n

Despite this, the Murray Bushrangers product managed 36 goals from 21 games and will ramp up his training across the next two months ahead of the start of the season.<\/p>\n

Marshall's pending signature will be another significant win for the Power.<\/p>\n

The club locked away Zak Butters (2026) and new captain Connor Rozee (2032) in the same week last month.<\/p>\n

Marshall has played 97 games for Port Adelaide since debuting in late 2017.<\/p>\n
