David Warner<\/a> has touched down on the Sydney Cricket Ground outfield following a helicopter trip from the Hunter Valley after attending his brother's wedding.<\/p>\n

Warner and his wife Candice departed the wedding at Hunter Valley Gardens on Friday afternoon, following the ceremony, in preparation for the BBL<\/a>fixture between the Sydney Thunder<\/a> and the Sydney Sixers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pair made the 45-minute journey from\ufeff Cessnock Airport, descending on the turf in front of the iconic Members' Stand as Australian DJ Fisher's 2018 hit 'Losing It' boomed from the stadium's sound system.<\/p>\n

With an audience of \ufeffmedia and Cricket NSW staff members, Warner exited the chopper wearing his Thunder kit before making his way to the sheds.<\/p>\n

It is understood that Cricket NSW and the Thunder took the \ufeffbill for the $5000 private helicopter.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Less than a week after \ufeffretiring from Test cricket, Warner will suit up for the Thunder against Australian teammate Steve Smith.<\/p>\n

The Sydney derby was sold out on Friday with 42,000 ticket-holders expected to flood through the gates.<\/p>\n

The match will be Warner's first of three group-stage appearances in BBL13 with the opener now free of Test commitments.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the commute, Warner did \ufeffnot rule out a return trip to continue celebrating his brother's wedding into the evening.<\/p>\n

The Thunder \ufeffwill no doubt be pleased to welcome Warner back into its line-up having only won one game from their past seven matches to sit second last in the standings.<\/p>\n

While it is still mathematically possible for the Thunder to make the finals series, it is unlikely.<\/p>\n

After games against the Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades, Warner will fly to the United Arab Emirates for a short stint with the Dubai Capitals in the International League T20.<\/p>\n

Australian chief selector George Bailey confirmed on Wednesday that Warner would return home to play in the T20 series against the West Indies in February, missing the finals of the ILT20.<\/p>\n

Warner is in the final year of his two-season deal with the Thunder after a nine-year hiatus from the Big Bash.<\/p>\n
