But at this time, we\u2019re going to move on. And I look forward, excited for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"9e7cfe70-ff13-4dbe-b78b-be17dda6b665\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/9e7cfe70-ff13-4dbe-b78b-be17dda6b665\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"1920\" data-height=\"1080\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Neither Belichick nor owner Robert Kraft took questions during their media address, instead reflecting on a long-standing partnership.<\/p>\n<p>Belichick appeared in a jacket and tie and spoke first, followed by Kraft. The coach even smiled a couple of times \u2014 including when he conceded respect for the media \u201ceven though we don\u2019t always see eye to eye&quot; &#8211; before putting the onus back on the players<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlayers win games in the NFL,\u201d Belichick said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been very, very fortunate to coach some of the greatest players to ever play the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kraft alluded to their successful relationship a marriage that had required work, but had come to an end.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very proud that our partnership lasted for 24 years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBill has taught me a lot over those years, and we had high expectations for what we could achieve together.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I think we were the only ones who had those expectations, and I think it\u2019s safe to say we exceeded them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Belichick, 71, became just the third coach in NFL history to reach 300 career regular-season victories earlier this season, joining Hall of Famers Don Shula and George Halas. With 333 wins including the playoffs, Belichick trails only Shula (347) for the record for victories.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the struggling Patriots ended this season 4-13, Belichick\u2019s worst record in 29 seasons as an NFL head coach.<\/p>\n<p>Belichick is expected to resume his pursuit of Shula&#x27;s record with a rival franchise and would bring an incredible CV with him.<\/p>\n<p>With his cutoff hoodies and ever-present scowl, Belichick teamed with quarterback <a href=\"https:\/\/wwos.nine.com.au\/news\/tom-brady\" target=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" title=\"Tom Brady\">Tom Brady<\/a> to lead the Patriots to six Super Bowl victories, nine AFC titles and 17 division championships in 19 years.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"0a42b0eb-69a8-43da-be21-cefa0b634464\" src=\"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/0a42b0eb-69a8-43da-be21-cefa0b634464\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"2000\" data-height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Reaction to Friday&#x27;s announcement poured in across social media.
