Melbourne Stars<\/a> veteran Marcus Stoinis<\/a> has recounted the "traumatic" moment teammate and wicketkeeper Sam Harper was struck in the head by a ball at training\ufeff last week.<\/p>\n

Harper \u2013 who has a history of concussion \u2013 was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after he was struck on the chin during a net session<\/a> before the Stars' BBL<\/a> clash against the Sydney Sixers<\/a> at the MCG<\/a> last Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Stoinis, who was there when the incident occurred, said the team was still coming to terms with the scary situation, as Harper returns home and begins his rehabilitation.<\/p>\n

"It was quite a mix. It brought up a lot of emotions for different people who had been through different things," Stoinis told media in Melbourne on Thursday.<\/p>\n

"It was quite a traumatic sort of afternoon. It's ended up in its best possible situation."<\/p>\n

Stoinis said the playing group had been receiving support.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"The boys have spoken about it, we've had some people to come in and speak to the group as well, which has been good," he said.<\/p>\n

"The support has been great … but everyone is going through their own thing at the moment."<\/p>\n

Despite being cleared of any serious damage\ufeff including any fractures or soft tissue injuries, Harper is yet to return to the Stars training.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Harps hasn't been and joined the group since the incident, but he is tracking quite well," Stoinis said.<\/p>\n

Stoinis said Harper was home and already "in the gym" as part of his rehab.<\/p>\n

"He is home, he got out of the hospital a day and a half or so after what happened and he started his concussion rehab as well," Stoinis said.<\/p>\n

"He was in the gym apparently just the other day … just to get things going.<\/p>\n

"Touch wood, I think things are going the right way."<\/p>\n

The Stars will need to win at least one of their final two BBL matches to keep their finals hopes alive.<\/p>\n
