Australian cycling<\/a> paused for a touching minute's silence in honour of Melissa Hoskins<\/a> at the national championships on Sunday, paying respect to the Olympian on the start line of the elite women's 104.4-kilometre road race.<\/p>\n

Just over three hours later, Ruby Roseman-Gannon clinched her second national title in three days at the Australian Road Cycling Championships, coming up trumps in an enthralling sprint finish in Buninyong, just outside Ballarat.\ufeff<\/p>\n

The minute's silence was held in remembrance of Hoskins, 32, after the mother-of-two was hit by a car\ufeff in Adelaide on December 30. Her husband, Olympic cyclist Rohan Dennis, was charged over her death.<\/p>\n

Some 48 hours after claiming the 33-kilometre elite women's cri\ufeffterium title, Roseman-Gannon added to her silverware when she took victory in an 11-woman sprint finish. She stopped the clock at three hours, four minutes and 52 seconds.<\/p>\n

"I think I'm just in shock," Roseman-Gannon said moments after the victory.<\/p>\n

"The last couple of years I've wanted this so bad and every year I finish just a bit disappointed.<\/p>\n

"I had amazing legs\ufeff. I mean, it helped that I was always up the road on the climb.<\/p>\n

"I couldn't thank my team enough … This is the best group and I'm just in shock … It means a lot, it doesn't feel real."<\/p>\n

Roseman-Gannon's win secured victory for\ufeff Liv AlUla Jayco, the Australian women's team competing on the Women's World Tour.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old from Melbourne combined superbly with Liv AlUla Jayco teammates Alex Manly, Amber Pate, Georgia Baker and Georgie Howe. The\ufeff Liv AIUla Jayco team covered many threatening moves from rivals throughout the hilly nine-lap race.<\/p>\n

Lauretta Hanson of Lidl-Trek finished second and Manly grabbed the final podium spot.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"This year I really knew I just had to be fluid and see what happened, just trust my instincts," Roseman-Gannon said.<\/p>\n
