Alex de Minaur<\/a>'s giant killing habits have continued after defeating world No.7 Alexander Zverev<\/a> in the United Cup<\/a> semi-finals.<\/p>\n

After shocking Novak Djokovic<\/a> earlier in the tournament with a straight sets victory<\/a>\ufeff, de Minaur continued his form to defeat the German 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The Aussie came into the tie under pressure following Ajla Tomljanovic three-set loss to Angelique Kerber\ufeff<\/a>, needing a win in order to keep Australia's hopes alive.<\/p>\n

After breaking Zverev early in the third set, de Minaur held his nerve to stay on top and secured three match points before landing the final blow.<\/p>\n

The ecstatic 24-year-old \ufeffshook his body after the win, firing up the crowd ahead of a final mixed doubles bout.<\/p>\n

"In true Alex de Minaur fashion, grit, determination, spirit and a severe will to win," Todd Woodbridge said on Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n

The victory for de Minaur seals his spot in the top 10 when the rankings are released on Monday.<\/p>\n
