World No.12 Jelena Ostapenko<\/a> has been captured ridiculing an umpire during her Brisbane International loss to Victoria Azarenka<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Locked in a tense third set battle at 4-4, \ufeffOstapenko lost her cool with Norwegian chair umpire Julie Kjendlie, claiming she incorrectly awarded her opponent \ufeffAzarenka a point.<\/p>\n

The point came after Azarenka raced to reach a shot that dropped short in the court\ufeff with Ostapenko lobbing it back before being unable to return her opponent's slam.<\/p>\n

With the advantage in deuce, Azarenka won the game to hold serve before Ostapenko began arguing with Kjendlie that the ball had bounced twice down Azarenka's end.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHolding up two fingers to Kjendlie, Ostapenko could be heard saying: "You're blind … you make so (many) mistakes". Ostapenko also bizarrely began holding up three fingers in the argument too.<\/p>\n

Taking a seat in the break, \ufeffOstapenko continued to make her disappointment heard, even referencing a previous game umpired by Kjendlie.<\/p>\n

"I never want to have you on my match again," she could be heard saying.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffYou will never be on my match.<\/p>\n

"I don't want you on my matches, you ruin my matches.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

In her fury, Ostapenko was unable to get Kjendlie on side. A side-on camera angle appeared to show that the ball had only bounced once.<\/p>\n

Azarenka went on to win the match 6-3, 3-6, 7-5<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Post-match the Belarusian explained there needs to be some caution when playing against Ostapenko.<\/p>\n

"With Jelena sometimes you just have to put on a helmet and try to stay in there," Azarenka said on Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n

"She's an incredible player and we've seen it many times, she's a grand slam champion. She's proved many times she can beat anybody on any given day so she's always very dangerous."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Ostapenko will be hoping to improve on her best Australian Open result last year where she lost in the quarter finals.<\/p>\n
