Aaron Finch<\/a> has announced the BBL<\/a>|13 season will be his last after spending his whole career with the Melbourne Renegades<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Australian white ball captain holds the club record for the most runs with 3311 and has made 106 appearances.<\/p>\n

He will also finish as the BBL's second biggest run-scorer, behind Chris Lynn<\/a> on 3638.<\/p>\n

Finch captained the Renegades for 11 seasons and led them to a Big Bash title in BBL|08\ufeff, defeating the side's arch-rival Melbourne Stars.<\/p>\n

In announcing his retirement, Finch described that victory as the highlight of his time in the competition. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"There've been some real lows but great highs, and I've loved every bit of the journey," he said.<\/p>\n

"No moment can compare to winning the title. That for me was very special and something I'll remember.<\/p>\n

"I'm really proud to have played at the one club for the entirety of my career. The Renegades have been a huge part of my life and I'm so grateful for everything they've given me.<\/p>\n

"To everyone who's been part of the journey with me – our members, fans, supporters, my teammates and all who have had a part to play at the club at all levels – thank you."<\/p>\n

Renegades head coach David Saker described Finch as "an outstanding servant" of the club. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"It's such a rare feat in the Big Bash to spend your career at one club. Everything that's been successful with the Renegades, Finchy has had everything to do with it," he said.<\/p>\n

"I first coached Finchy when he captained Victoria's Under-19s and I've seen him develop as a leader and person.<\/p>\n

"He's a unique type of leader (who is) very tactically aware, while he bases a lot of his decisions on gut feel, and that's a courageous thing to do out in the field."<\/p>\n

Finch hasn't featured for the Renegades since he withdrew from the side's Boxing Day clash with back soreness.<\/p>\n
