David Warner's baggy greens have been stolen and the retiring Australian Test opener has pleaded for his cherished possessions to be returned.<\/p>\n
The\ufeff 37-year-old posted a desperate video message on Instagram on Tuesday, revealing a backpack with his baggy greens \u2014 the iconic cap worn by Australian Test cricketers \u2014 had been stolen ahead of his final Test.<\/p>\n
"\ufeffUnfortunately this is my last resort to do this, but a couple of days ago our bags got freighted by Qantas," Warner said ahead of the SCG Test, beginning on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
"We've gone through CCTV footage. They've got some blind spots apparently. We've spoken to the Key West Hotel, who we absolutely trust, and have gone through their cameras \u2014 no one's come into our rooms. But unfortunately someone has taken my backpack out of my actual luggage, which had my backpack and my girls' presents in there.<\/p>\n
"Inside this backpack was my baggy greens. It's sentimental to me. It's something that I would love to have back in my hands walking out there come this week.<\/p>\n
"If it's the backpack that you really wanted, I have a spare one here. You won't get into trouble.<\/p>\n
"Please reach out to Cricket Australia or myself via my social media, and I am happy to give this to you if you return my baggy greens."<\/p>\n
Warner will play his 112th and final Test when Australia meets Pakistan at the SCG from Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The left-hander has piled up 8695 runs at 44.58, including 26 centuries, since making his Test debut in 2011.\ufeff<\/p>\n
He got emotional while talking to media ahead of his Test farewell, fighting off tears as he spoke of his special bond with opening partner and childhood mate Usman Khawaja.<\/p>\n
Warner opened his farewell summer with a knock of 164 in Perth. He was then dismissed for a duck at Perth Stadium, before making 38 and six in the MCG Test.\ufeff\ufeff<\/p>\n
