\ufeffAaron Finch<\/a> has revealed a hilarious text message David Warner<\/a> sent him after responding to Mitchell Johnson's barbs with a century.<\/p>\n

After Johnson questioned his spot in the Australian side heading into the summer, Warner responded with a brilliant 164 in the first innings<\/a> against Pakistan last week.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe innings continued a running theme in Warner's career where the left-hander has responded to pressure with some of his best performances.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Grade Cricketer podcast, Finch, who was Warner's long-time opening partner in white ball cricket for Australia, admitted he "didn't see that coming" when asked about Johnson's attack on his old teammate.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWhen you get a bit personal that's probably not ideal is it? He admitted it himself, he said that's probably one place he wished he didn't go," he said.<\/p>\n

\"David<\/p>\n

"But Davey (Warner), every time he's backed into a corner he does well. I (sent a text message) to him the other day and he said, 'You'd think after 15 years they'd know', which is so good."<\/p>\n

Finch described Johnson as one of the nastiest bowlers to face in the nets during his cricket career, and said the fiery left-armer once broke Warner's thumb in the WACA nets.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"It was fast," he said of the experience of facing Johnson in training.<\/p>\n

"It was never, 'Alright, I'm just going to warm into it', and you get your first 10 minutes in the net with him trying to just work on something. If he was working on something, he'd do it separately.<\/p>\n

"When the batters walked into the nets he was ready and it was going to be on, and that was so hard.<\/p>\n
