Melbourne<\/a> star Clayton Oliver<\/a> departed the Demons' pre-season training camp in Lorne on Monday night as he continues to deal with ongoing health issues, reports The Age<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The situation adds to the midfielder's tumultuous off-season which included intense\ufeff trade speculation with Oliver at odds with the club's standards.<\/p>\n

Oliver underwent a minor knee procedure post-season but hit the training track earlier than required for Melbourne's pre-season campaign.<\/p>\n

He did not train on Saturday but made his way to the first day of the training camp before returning home to Melbourne.<\/p>\n

Melbourne football manager Alan Richardson said the decision for Oliver to leave early was made on Monday.<\/p>\n

"Clayton is taking a break as he continues to deal with some issues. We are continuing to support Clayton and managing his program in a way that prioritises his health and wellbeing," Richardson told the Age.<\/p>\n

"His teammates and staff remain confident he is making good progress."<\/p>\n
