Penrith Panthers chief executive Brian Fletcher has categorically shut down suggestions that triple premiership star Jarome Luai<\/a> will be playing for the Wests Tigers<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n

Fletcher told 9News Sydney that "under no circumstances" will Luai be playing in any colours other than the Panthers' next season, despite an announcement from the Tigers looming<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Luai has reportedly been offered a $6 million five-year deal\ufeff to join the Tigers<\/a>, but is still contracted to the Panthers until 2026.<\/p>\n

Fletcher\ufeff however is confident that the five-eighth will not be tempted to move just yet.<\/p>\n

"We love him to death. \ufeffWe need him to play here next year, which he'll be playing here," Fletcher told 9News Sydney's Zac Bailey on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

"We haven't released any players before\ufeff and under no circumstances will Jarome be going anywhere for '24.<\/p>\n

"After that, we just wish him and his family all the best\ufeff."<\/p>\n

When questioned on the validity of the possible deal\ufeff, Fletcher turned his attention to the Panthers' push for a fourth flag in as many years, with the expectation that Luai will be part of yet another premiership side.<\/p>\n

"All the speculation's rubbish\ufeff. He'll be playing for Panthers. Hopefully we'll be going on to try and win another premiership with him," Fletcher said.<\/p>\n

Despite doubling down on his importance for Penrith, Fletcher expressed his excitement for the 26-year-old, noting a deal as big as the Tigers' would be life-changing for Luai and his young family.<\/p>\n

"We're very happy for him because he's secured a massive contract\ufeff and a long term contract, which is good. He's got the blessing of the club," Fletcher said.<\/p>\n

"It's just a pity that the (salary) cap forces these good players out eventually\ufeff when you're having the success we're having."<\/p>\n

At the other end, former NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler praised Luai's ambition to chase the deal, breaking down where he believes the five-eighth will add the most value to the Tigers.<\/p>\n

"He's just got that little zest about him\ufeff that can really add a spark to any footy club," Fittler told 9News Sydney.<\/p>\n

"We talk about the result\ufeff, what he does is he brings it every single day that every person is not watching. That's the value of Jarome Luai."<\/p>\n
