For the first time\u00a0<\/span>since 2016<\/span><\/a>, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) stands atop the Super 25 rankings, marking the program’s fourth title.<\/span><\/p>\n

Like last year, it was a close race down the stretch, with Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Calif.), Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) and DeSoto (Texas) making a case for consideration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To that, the teams that just missed the top 25 were probably the most reviewed in recent years, with five shining above the rest.<\/span><\/p>\n

But after much conversation and consideration, the 25 teams below earned a spot in the final 2023 rundown.<\/span><\/p>\n

As we close another chapter of the USA TODAY Sports Super 25 football rankings, we congratulate all the teams that appeared this season. That’s an incredible achievement when considering the massive scope of high school football.<\/span><\/p>\n

The methodology: the HSS staff creates the\u00a0Super 25 rankings<\/a>\u00a0while considering various data points, including strength of schedule, prospects, the more traditional stats\u2014did the team win or lose?\u2014as well as overall point differentials.<\/em><\/p>\n
