T\ufeffhe Dragons<\/a> have suffered another blow with Junior Amone's contract coming under review from the NRL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The NRL announced in a statement on Tuesday afternoon that it had issued a notice to Amone under the \ufeffNRL playing contract and remuneration rules.<\/p>\n

Amone was found guilty at Wollongong Local Court in October over a hammer attack on a tradesman that occurred on November 15, 2022<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The five-eighth was found guilty of\ufeff assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stalking or intimidation and destroying or damaging property.<\/p>\n

Amone avoided jail but was sentenced to a two-year intensive corrections order and 300 hours of community service.<\/p>\n

He was also fined $1000 by the court for a charge of destroy or damage property and ordered to pay compensation to the victim.<\/p>\n

Following the judgement, speculation was rife over what punishment the NRL integrity unit would hand down. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Prior to the statement from the NRL, 9News reporter Danny Weidler revealed that Amone's NRL contract was likely to be ripped up.<\/p>\n

"Had a tip the NRL have cancelled the registration of Junior Amone … Tough break for the Dragons," he posted on X.<\/p>\n
