It was a far cooler Mitchell Johnson<\/a> who took to commentary on day one of the\ufeff Perth Test<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Australian fast bowler had clearly cooled down following the blistering attack directed at ex-teammate David Warner<\/a> in the lead-up\ufeff to the first Test of the summer.<\/p>\n

Triple M radio caller James Brayshaw baited Johnson as Australia met Pakistan on Thursday, prodding the former left-arm quick about the touchy situation after he torched Warner<\/a>'s Test form and role in the ball-tampering saga in an astonishing column for The West Australian.<\/p>\n

"Now, I haven't seen you in the lead-up to this game, Johnno. Anything been going on?" Brayshaw said with a hint of mischief.<\/p>\n

"Not really," Johnson deadpanned, smirking as he replied.<\/p>\n

"Not really?\ufeff Keeping a low profile?" Brayshaw added.<\/p>\n

"Laying low," chuckled former Australian captain Mark Taylor<\/a>.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Nup, all good here in the west," Johnson quipped.<\/p>\n

"The sun's been shining, mate, as you know."<\/p>\n

Warner began his farewell tour in sublime fashion in Perth, crunching 164 runs from 211 balls. The aggressive opener brought up his 26th Test century from 125 balls and had a message for his critics in his celebration, taking a leap, delivering an uppercut and performing a "shoosh" gesture.<\/p>\n

"Mitch is entitled to his opinion; he is a former player," Warner told reporters at stumps.<\/p>\n

"It is anyone who wants to write stories about me and tries to get headlines. That stuff does not bother me.<\/p>\n

"It is just the fact that I have to go out there, do what I have to do, and I am allowed to celebrate how I want.<\/p>\n

"It is not about me being up against the wall. It is your guys' job to write stories. If someone is not scoring runs, then you are entitled to do that.<\/p>\n

\"Opening-day<\/p>\n

"For me, it is about trying my best and scoring runs. I don't feel any extra pressure. I don't feel any other point that I have to prove."<\/p>\n

Warner flagged his intention\ufeff in early June to retire from Test cricket at the SCG in January, which left many people annoyed and confused given his poor red-ball form in recent years. Many considered it selfish that he had essentially demanded to be picked for the Ashes and the Test series against Pakistan.<\/p>\n

"I am getting older, so your games are limited. It is game by game now. If I fail the next innings, there will probably be headlines, but it is what it is in a game of cricket," Warner said at stumps on Thursday.<\/p>\n

"If people are out to get you or make a headline from your name, then so be it. I can't worry about that. I just have to keep scoring runs and put my team in a great position."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
