D\ufeffavid Warner<\/a> has been a polarising figure in Australian cricket to say the least, and there's been clear evidence of that which has come to light.<\/p>\n

Warner responded to his critics with a brilliant 164 on the opening day of the first Test against Pakistan<\/a>, but it seems not everyone was equally impressed.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Former Australian all-rounder Simon O'Donnell revealed a text he received which showed Warner is still yet to win back the public in the way some of his teammates have.<\/p>\n

"I had a really disturbing text yesterday," O'Donnell said on SEN.<\/p>\n

"I had one of the more un-Australian texts I've ever received. It was from a good mate of mine. He was at the pub and David Warner made his hundred and he said not one person cheered or applauded. I thought that was horrible.<\/p>\n

\"David<\/p>\n

"Whether you love him or hate him, what he did yesterday for our country, surely, you've got to give him plaudits for that."\ufeff<\/p>\n

O'Donnell's revelation came after Warner performed a silencing motion to celebrate his 26th Test century on day one. <\/p>\n

When asked about the shushing gesture after the match<\/a>, Warner said it wasn't aimed at anybody, however when asked directly about Mitchell Johnson's column and the impact it had, he said:\ufeff<\/p>\n

"Mitch is entitled to his opinion. He is a former player.<\/p>\n

"It is anyone who wants to write stories about me and tries to get headlines. That stuff does not bother me," Warner added.<\/p>\n
